So, start with Step No. 1

1. Research the Topics

Once you have decided to Start a Blog to earn money from it, then the first thing you need to do is Start Brainstorming the Topics on which you want to create the Blog.

And how you do it. Here are the Exact Steps on how I got my Topic Ideas when I first started the Blog.

1. Look Around and See what Excites you a lot – So you can find what are your favourite things that you can blog about.

2. Then, Think of things you love doing the most – In this way, you will find a subject that you are really interested in, so later you won’t get bored. Like you love watching TV Serials, Playing Cricket, Drawing Arts, or just enjoying Surfing the Web, Interested in men’s/women’s Grooming. It could be Anything.

3. Find Your Topic of Expertise /Knowledge- Now you have tons of Ideas, which you really enjoy doing in your day-to-day life.

So, Let’s Check out in which field you have the most appropriate knowledge or Expertise. so you can prove that you are the most Authoritative person to blog about this particular topic.

Now, you have a topic,

Let’s move to the next step.

2. Find and Give your Blog a Name

Every Step is Important.

So, to get the right Name for your Blog, you must remember these things.

  • Your Blog Name Should represent the topic of your Blog. (not highly important)
  • Your Blog name needs to be short and memorable.
  • It must be Easy to Read and Pronounce.
  • It should be Unique so that every time people think of this name your blog comes first in their mind.
  • Don’t use Names that someone already has in their Business (eg. don’t put your blog name like “googleainews.com”) because Google is a copyrighted name, and your blog will be punished by Google.

Now, you might be thinking of picking a Domain name, but not at this point, we will talk more about this in the 4th Step.

Now, you have a good and memorable name for your Blog.

Let’s move on to our next step which is Getting your Blog Online.

Here are several things to note down like, Which CMS are we using, or do we need to code it manually?

Then I suggest you do not overthink these silly questions,

We are going with the most popular one WordPress.org, which I use, and almost every blogger who owns a personal blog.

So, just keep reading the article until the last and you will be ready to write articles and publish them on Google.

3. Get a Hosting for your Blog

This is the most important step in this whole Article on Blog Setup.

So, Very first What is a Hosting?

A short answer is where all your files (like, pages, posts, images) are stored to serve the visitors.

Well, I am not going into this, as this article is all about the Steps, so for these types of Questions, I will put a FAQ section below in this article with the link to the detailed Article.

Just Follow me.

Keep In Mind:- Don’t go after Free Options, they just ruin your Time and Nothing Else. “I have wasted a lot more time doing things for Free and Trust me “FREE” is a SCAM.

Now, for hosting I usually Prefer Dreamhost or Chemicloud (on which this blog is hosted).

So first, head over to any of these hosting providers, for you, I prefer to go with Dreamhost, as Dreamhost is recommended by WordPress itself.

Important:- If you buy hosting from any of the links above, we will set up your Complete Blog For Free. Learn More >>

so first,

# Head over to Dreamhost

Once you are on Dreamhost’s home page — hover on the WordPress tab and choose WordPress Basic.

Once you are on the WordPress hosting page, hover to WordPress Unlimited Plan, and change the Plan to Yearly, which only costs you $2.95/month and includes a lot of impressive features like Unlimited Website Hosting, Free Domain Name, Unlimited Traffic, Unlimited Professional @your Domain Name, and so much more.

And as you can see in the Images, it only costs $35.40 for One Full Year.

But One Important thing to check is “Untick the Dreamshield Protection box” before making the payment as shown in the image above.

Because we don’t need as there are many Free Plugins out there that can do these things better than this.

Once you Complete your Payment, your details will be emailed to you.

Steps for Signing Up on Dreamhost.

  1. Go to Dreamhost.com
  2. Hover to the WordPress Tab from the Menu

4. Get a Free Domain Name

Once you have purchased your Hosting, Now it’s time to get our Dream Live, which means our Website is Live, and for That, we first need a Domain Name.

For this we need to first log in to our Dreamhost Panel — then go to Domain Name — and Click on Manage Registrations.

Dreamhost Free Domain Credit for Blog Setup
Dreamhost Free Domain Credits

Here in the Domain Registration Section, you will see your Free Credits Available on the Right Side, as shown in the image.

So, Now Search for your Preferred Domain Name which you have chosen above (in step 2) and there are high chance that your preferred name is not available, then you need to try adding some hook words in your Domain Name and then search them.

If you think of a Fitness Blog and give it the name MyFitness, but myfitness.com is not available — then you can try its different variants like – Powerfitness.com, hulkfitness.com (and try to stick with your main Blog Theme, in this case, it’s Fitness)

And, I suggest you go with the “.com” Extension, as it is the most popular domain Name Extension.

But Dreamhost offers only a few of the popular domain extensions to be registered for FREE, as shown in the image below.

As you click on Install WordPress a page opens where you first Need to Select a Domain Name from the Dropdown — and leave all remaining options as it is — and click on Install WordPress.

Note- As you see in the Image, there is a Specify Path Section, which is basically because I have already installed WordPress on my domain.

It takes approx 10 minutes to Install, and now your Blog is ready to launch, which you can see by entering your Domain name in Google.

Hurray……………

Your Blog is Now Live, and you are ready to publish Articles there.

Now you have successfully installed WordPress, so let’s move to the next step which is,

6. Installing WordPress Themes

A theme is responsible for the Overall layout of your Website Design.

So first, we need to Install a Theme from the WordPress Directory.

But to install the theme you need to log in to your WordPress Dashboard, and you can do so by entering — “yourdomain.com/wp-login.php” this URL.

But for the first time, you need to set a new password for Logging in, and for this, Dreamhost Sends you an Email with a Password Reset Link.

Once you set a new password you can now login to your WordPress dashboard by entering the above-stated URL in Google.

Once you are in your Dashboard,

Themes tab in WordPress

From the left side Menu — hover on the Appearance tab then on Themes, and now you are in the Themes directory.

Now you see many Default themes already installed but ignore them, and Click on Add New Themes

Kadence WP WordPress Theme in WordPress Theme Directory

Once you are on Add New Themes, either you can search for the Kadence theme, or scroll down to find this theme. Then Hover on the Kadence theme — and click Install — after that click Activate.

And Now the Kadence theme is Activated on your Blog.

After activating Kadence Them you will see a popup of Kadence AI Starter Templates – go ahead and click on Activate Button. (we will talk about it later).

Kadence AI Website Builder

Once Activated — Again hover to the Appearance Section — and click Customize. Now you can customize it as you wish.

To learn more about Customization, You can watch any video on YouTube.

Now our theme is Installed,

And it’s turn to,

7. Add Plugins to your Blog

Plugins usually add functionality to your Website, for example, if you want to add a contact form on your Website, you can Install a Contact Form Plugin, like Contact Form 7.

So to install Plugins, you need to click on the Plugins tab from the left-side menu in your Dashboard.

But now you are confused about which plugins to Insatll and which do not.

So, here is a full list of plugins I use on my WordPress Blog.

  1. Forminator – for Contact Forms, Quizzes, and Polls
  2. Hustle – for creating Popup, Slides-in, and Embedes
  3. Kadence Blocks – to Add Editing Functionality to my Blog
  4. Pods – for Adding Custom Post Types, which I don’t recommend to you
  5. Site Kit by Google – To monitor my site and to add it to Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  6. Solid Security Basic – To Add Some security to my site like Brute Force Attacks, and two-factor Authentication.
  7. UpdraftPlus – for Backup, yeah I know that Dreamhost makes a backup but still, I love to keep a backup secure by myself.
  8. WP Mail SMTP – for sending Emails via WordPress.
  9. WP-Optimize – for Caching
  10. Yoast SEO – for SEO and Sitemap

I use 3 more plugins including Pods, Sucuri, and
Redirection but you don’t need these plugins at this time.

So, go with that 10 plugins, in Starting, and as needed you can install other plugins.

Once you have Installed and configured these plugins, not its time to,

8. Customize your site to your needs.

Once you have all the plugins and themes installed now start customizing your blog.

And for customizing it you need to download the Kadence AI Starter Templates Plugin. (which you already downloaded when you downloaded the theme)

Note – you can also customize your site from scratch, but it takes a lot of time so I recommend you use templates where you can install prebuilt templates for your whole blog.

Kadence AI Starter Templates Library for Blog Setup
Kadence AI Starter Templates

Once, you have installed and Activated the plugin, you can now find awesome pre-built templates in the Appearance tab — then Starter Templates — then on the Kadence templates page — in the top right corner, select Block Editor from the Dropdown (as shown in the image above).

And Now, from the templates library choose any Free Templates of your choice — and Activate them.

Your Site is fully imported.

Now, Customize it to your needs, and Start Publishing the Post.

9. Setup Google Site Kit

Google Site Kit allows us to submit our blog to Google Search Console and Connect with Google Analytics with the ease of our WordPress dashboard.

And this is important.

So, first — Activate Site Kit Plugin

Second — Click on the Site Kit — and Sign in with Google from the left menu in the Dashboard.

Google Site Kit Plugin Setup

Now — choose the Gmail Account that you want to connect with Site Kit.

Hence it asks for Permissions — Then Allow all the Permissions.

Now you will be redirected to your WordPress Dashboard in the Site Kit Page.

Then Follow the Steps the Site Kit Provides and complete the process of setup.

Google Site Kit Plugin Activated on Blog

Once Completed you can now see the metrics like Visitors, popular content, and page speed inside your WordPress Dashboard.

That’s it.

Now it is time to,

10. Create Important Pages

Once you are ready to write Blog posts, it’s important to check your Sites Navigation Pages, and if your site is legally protected or not.

So for this, you need to create some Pages.

For this,

Go to the Pages Tab from the left menu in the WordPress Dashboard – and Start creating Pages.

So here are some important pages your WordPress blog must have.

  • Home Page
  • Contact Page
  • About Us Page
  • Disclaimer Page
  • Terms and Conditions Page
  • Privacy Policy Page
  • Cookie Policy Page

For creating legal pages like privacy Policies and Terms and Conditions you can simply Google “Privacy Policy Generator” and generate these policies for Free.

Once you have these pages on your Blog, you are now ready to Write Blog Posts.

But first, you need to make some important changes to your WordPress Settings.

10. WordPress Settings Tour

But Before you start writing the Blog Post, you need to make some Tweaks.

Go to the Setting option in the WordPress Dashboard. and check the options one by one.

(1.) General Tab –

  • In the Site Title Option, Write down your Blog Name.
  • And in the Site Tagline section, write down the tagline of your blog.
